Based on factors, such as the volume of AI-related searches, AI platforms searched and the concentration of AI-related jobs, we’ve identified the top 10 states and cities that have embraced AI transformation the most.

With AI taking the world and the U.S. by storm, it’s only natural that people show curiosity for anything and everything having to do with it. So, which states are jumping on the bandwagon the quickest?

California earns the top spot for state most interested in AI

It may come as no surprise that California ranks #1 as the state with the highest level of AI engagement. With plenty of the most widely known tech companies calling Silicon Valley home, it’s no shock that there are currently 3,633 AI-related job openings throughout the state. Residents of the Golden State also make 147 AI-related searches per 10,000 people each month.

Oregon comes in as the second state most interested in AI. Though the Beaver State currently only has 283 AI-related job openings, residents make the most AI-related searches compared to any other state! Oregonians make 468 AI-related searches per 10,000 people each month.


#3 New York

On the opposite side of the country, New York is the third state most interested in AI. Competing with California for the most AI jobs, the Empire State currently has 2,446 openings. However, when it comes to AI-related searches, New Yorkers only make 136 searches per 10,000 people each month. Guess they’re too busy working in the industry.

Moving to the south, Texas is ranked as the fourth state most interested in AI. The Lone Star State currently has 2,201 AI job openings and Texans make 113 searches per 10,000 people each month.

#5 Virginia

Virginia comes in as the fifth state most interested in AI, with 2,025 AI-related job openings up for grabs. Similar to New York, Virginians make 135 AI-related searches per 10,000 people each month.

The top 10 cities most interested in AI

With so many tech company hubs across the country, it only felt right to pinpoint the top 10 major U.S. cities with the highest focus on AI.

New York City ranks as the #1 U.S. city most interested in AI

The Big Apple earns the top spot for the city that’s most interested in AI. New York City has a whopping 1,792 AI-related job openings! New York City residents also make 333 AI-related searches per 10,000 people each month.

#2 Atlanta

Those who call ATL home are in second place for the city that’s most interested in AI. While Atlanta currently only has 511 AI-related job openings, residents make a staggering 798 AI-related searches per 10,000 people each month!

#3 Jersey City

Perhaps a bit more shockingly, Jersey City, NJ ranks as the third city most interested in AI. There are an astounding 1,832 AI-related job openings in the city dubbed Wall Street West—making it the city with the most AI job openings overall. Though AI jobs are in surplus, Jersey City residents only make 180 AI-related searches per 10,000 people monthly.

Staying in the Garden State, Newark ranks as the fourth city most interested in AI. Similar to Jersey City, there are 1,637 AI-related job openings in Newark. Though there’s a staggering number of AI roles, residents only make 192 AI-related searches per 10,000 people each month.

Miami comes in as the fifth city most interested in AI. However, the Magic City tells a different story when it comes to AI-related job openings. Miami currently only offers 188 AI job roles, the least among the top 10 cities. However, Miamians perform a whopping 785 AI-related searches per 10,000 people each month.
